Public and Patient Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PPIEP)
Please visit our main PPIE website for patients and the public, Bash the Bug, for our latest activities.
The Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Committee consists of members of the general public and representatives of the MMM team. It is led by the PPIE Lead and supported by the Coordinator.
Its aim is to ensure that our research addresses the needs and concerns of the local communities and its results are appropriately communicated, by providing input at all stages of the research cycle and co-designing the Patient and Public Community Involvement and Engagement strategy and activities.
The PPIE Committee is responsible for coordinating and supporting the activities of the MMM research team, and for the implementation of the PPIE Strategy and activities.
You can see a copy of our PPIE strategy here.
Would you like to get involved?
We are looking for NHS patients and members of the public to share their opinions. We need help with:
- Making sure their research addresses the needs and concerns of local communities
- Designing activities with patients and the public
- Deciding how to share research results with the public
What would I need to do?
You don’t need any special knowledge to get involved, but you need to be able to either attend a two-hour meeting about every four months or speak to a member of the team, and be happy to share your opinions.
How do I volunteer?
We would love to hear from you! To get involved in this important work, please email mmm@ndm.ox.ac.uk and ask for more information about joining the Steering Committee.
