It is our pleasure to invite you to a cross-disciplinary clinical research symposium in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Respiratory Medicine to be held the Richard Doll Building, Old Campus Road, Oxford on Thursday 7th May between 9.15am to 3pm. Welcome refreshments from 8.45am

The meeting has been organised by the Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Local Research Oversight Group (LROG) who have supported the OUH Research and Development team in the setup of clinical research in our specialist areas since the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have arranged the event in view of the imminent changes in local, regional and national organisation and the associated changes in implementation of clinical research, affecting all our teams.

The purpose of the symposium are:

  • To highlight and celebrate success in trials, especially those that have changed practice
  • To highlight new opportunities on-going studies and the cutting edge of our work
  • To discuss the re-organisation of the research framework on a local, regional and national level
  • To allow discussion of the obstacles to success and to problem solve
  • Finally, to provide an opportunity for networking across disciplines

We are delighted to be joined by the regional leads in our specialist areas as well as by Tracy Harman, Deputy Director of Strategic Development, RDN Coordinating Centre (RDNCC) to deliver a talk on the national research vision for the next decades and by our newly appointed leads of the new Specialist Medicine and Surgery, Renal, and Gastroenterology Research Delivery Groups (RDGs) at OUH.  Shahista Hussein, Head of R&D Governance from OUH Research & Development will be talking about the 150 day study set-up metrics.

Catering will be provided on the day.
