What We Do
What we do
ORTU has expertise in all aspects of clinical trial design, conduct, regulation and funding applications.
We can provide guidance on suitable trial and study design, assist with grant applications and provide direction on which funders may be most appropriate.
During the conduct of funded studies, we have expertise in methodology, trial management, data and database design and strong collaborations with statistical experts. All functions are conducted with robust quality assurance support, and we operate in conjunction with the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit as a fully registered UKCRC CTU.
trial management team
Our Trial Management Team is dedicated to conducting high-quality research that advances respiratory medicine. We work closely with investigators to design and execute rigorous clinical trials, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements. From developing study protocols to managing data and monitoring trial progress, we play a vital role in driving scientific discovery and improving patient outcomes.
data management team
Our data team plays a crucial role in the success of our clinical trials. We work closely with investigators to design and implement robust data collection systems that capture accurate and reliable information. From developing electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) to conducting data validation and quality checks, we ensure that our data is managed efficiently and meets the highest standards of integrity. Our team also provides essential training and support to study site staff, ensuring that they have the knowledge and tools they need to contribute to the success of our trials.
Quality Assurance Team
Our Quality Assurance Team is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance in our clinical research. We work closely with investigators, study teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure that our studies are conducted ethically and in accordance with good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines. From reviewing study protocols to conducting audits, we play a vital role in safeguarding data integrity and ensuring the reliability of our research findings.
clinical team
The Clinical Team at Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU) is dedicated to delivering high-quality respiratory research. Our team, comprising experienced respiratory physicians and dedicated research nurses, works collaboratively to advance the understanding and treatment of a range of respiratory conditions. The physician-researchers design and oversee clinical trials, while the research nurses play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of studies. This includes coordinating patient visits, collecting data, and providing essential clinical care. By working together, our team ensures that our research is conducted ethically, efficiently, and with the highest standards of clinical practice.
