I am a senior researcher in the Modernising Medical Microbiology group interested in scalable methods for pathogen genomics. After completing PhD studies on characterising viral populations, I developed software for detecting genomic signatures of positive selection with Mary O'Connell, before moving to Oxford to study the spread of pathogenic Enterobacterales in healthcare settings supervised by Sarah Walker and Nicole Stoesser. Since 2021 my work has focused on developing and applying methods for quickly, accurately, and privately analysing genomic sequence data using cloud computing, supervised by Derrick Crook. I am an active member of the Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology's (PHA4GE) Data Structures Working Group, developing open data standards for public health genomics.
