Arran Babbs

Clinical Trials Facility Manager

I am the clinical trials facility manager for gastroenterology and hepatology. I manage the team of nurses, clinical research practitioners and administrators who work on commercial and academic trials and studies in hepatology with Principal Investigators Professor Ellie Barnes, Dr Emma Culver, Dr Jeremy Cobbold, Dr Michael Pavlides and Dr Francesca Saffioti.

We currently have commercially sponsored trials aimed at treatment for autoimmune diseases (IgG4, AIH, PSC, PBC) and metabolic related liver diseases (NAFLD, NASH).

As well as the commercially sponsored trials, I oversee staff working across a wide range of academic studies including the DeLIVER consortium run by Professor Ellie Barnes.

I am a member of the Local Research Oversight Group, assessing and prioritising new studies for set-up within OUH.
