WS5 - Biomarkers

The Bio-medical Research Council (BRC), a part of the Oxford Hospital Radcliffe Trust (OHRT), funds research and many of our staff are involved in BRC research.

Our research is funded from a variety of funders. Their support allows our research to focus on the basic and clinical research domains to accelerate knowledge translation from the bedside to the bench, and back again.

Work Strand 5 focuses on serum biomarkers

Published research suggests there are a large number of biological factors predictive of Hepatitis C treatment outcome or disease progression.

The objective of this Work Strand is to generate serum biomarker datasets associated with treatment response and cirrhosis progression.

This Work Strand is led by Professor Will Irving (University of Nottingham).
