Michael Johnson

Assistant Database Administrator


IBD Database

Michael Johnson joined the TGU in 2017 as the Assistant Database Administrator for the IBD Cohort. He is involved with the creation of a database for patients with intestinal neoplasia including polyps and cancer. The data collected will be used to recommend a timeframe for surveillance.  When completed the database will integrate with clinical and laboratory research groups.

Education

At the University of York his research focused on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to create 3d models of archaeological sites in the UK. He also worked as a Scientific Diver with Florida State University to collect data from instruments in the Gulf of Mexico.

Past work

Michael has always had an interest in curating and making sense of data regardless the topic. He worked as an Archaeologist in the US and the UK where he created an artefact photograph database for the 2011 oil spill in Gulf of Mexico along with the design and creation of a web friendly open access scientific dating database for UK archaeological sites.
