Haochen Cui

DPhil in Clinical Medicine

Haochen began his journey in clinical medicine in 2018 as a student in the Clinical Medicine 8-year program at Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and has since obtained his medical practice license in China.

In 2025, Haochen joined the research teams of Professor David Eyre and Professor A. Sarah Walker at the Oxford Big Data Institute as a DPhil student. His research focuses on integrating large language models into real-world clinical workflows, with an emphasis on safety, evaluable, and deployable methods. He is particularly interested in how LLMs can support clinical decision-making, documentation, and infection surveillance using large-scale electronic health records.
