Connor Philp
DPhil student
Biography
Connor is a PhD student working in the Klenerman group exploring T cells that are reactive to the cell surface receptor Major Histocompatibility Complex class I-related protein 1 (MR1).
The aim of his research is two-fold:
1) To further develop an assay for detecting 5-OP-RU (a major ligand for a large subset of these T cells called Mucosal-Associated Invariant T or MAIT cells) and deploy this assay across both mouse and human samples to explore how levels of this molecule may lead to inter- and intra-individual differences in MR1-reactive T cells.
2) To explore MR1-reactive T cells that respond to human-derived ligands seeking to understand their levels of cross-reactivity and potential roles around the body.
