Roxanne Williams

I joined the BioBank team in November 2017.

My role will be involved with consenting patients, collecting samples, extracting DNA and recording information on the relevant databases. As the role progresses, I am likely to be focusing on collection of resections from colorectal cancer and IBD surgeries.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from Rhodes University in South Africa. I am really excited to work with the unit and am particularly excited to begin working with patients. Up until now my work experience has included working as a medical scientist in a clinical research laboratory in South Africa, doing mostly molecular lab work, DNA/RNA extractions, running qPCR assays and processing human samples. In my spare time, I love to bake and enjoy the sightseeing in my new home (the UK).
