John McLauchlanJohn McLauchlan

John McLauchlan is Associate Director of the MRC Centre for Virus Research at the University of Glasgow. The focus of his research is the study of the functions of virus and host components during infection, particularly during viral RNA replication and virion assembly. He is joint coordinator of HCV Research UK. 

Dr McLauchlan leads work strand 1: HCV biorepository.

Emma ThomsonEmma Thomson

Emma Thomson is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Virus Research, University of Glasgow. The current focus of her work involves HCV diversity during transmission and early intrahost viral evolution using next-generation and full-length sequencing of the viral genome.

Dr Thomson is involved with work strand 2: Viral genomics.
